Community Foundation awards Mini Grants totaling $7,300
GREENFIELD, Ind. (July 9, 2026) – The Community Foundation of Hancock County (CFHC) recently issued Mini Grants to six organizations from component funds of CFHC. Most of the grants were made from the Hancock County Community Development Fund, which helps support long-term solutions; respond quickly to emergencies; and meet changing social, cultural, educational, and environmental needs in our local community.
- Hancock Co. Behavioral Health Court received $500 for client transportation for appointments. This will pay for vouchers for individuals participating in the program to use RIDE Hancock to attend office check-ins, mental health appointments, and other necessities when they do not have transportation.
- Hancock Co. Community Corrections received $1,500 for All Rise Training, a national conference for treatment court professionals. The training will focus on treatment options and approaches around addiction and mental health.
- Greenfield Main Street received $1,200 for a Community Exchange program. Greenfield Main Street will host this event as part of the Indiana Main Street accreditation program through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). To remain in compliance, accredited Main Street organizations are required to attend at least one Community Exchange event annually. This year, Greenfield has been selected as one of only five communities statewide to host an exchange.
- Circle of Care received $1,800 towards the replacement of a HVAC unit. They will combine this with other grant funds to replace an unrepairable unit.
- Love INC received $1,500 for technology upgrades necessary for their software security.
- Vernon Music Boosters received $800 for two bass guitars and an amplifier. This will support continued growth of the Mt. Vernon High School Jazz Education program. This grant was funded by theJeanne H. Tracy Meddock Fund for Music Opportunities. This fund memorializes Jeanne Meddock’s passion for music and its impact on youth with financial support for organizations providing music education, music programs, and support for the purchase or rental of instruments.
These grants were issued from a pool of funds that is set aside each year to meet nonprofit organizations’ needs that arise outside of the major grant cycles.
CFHC provides philanthropic leadership by encouraging giving, learning, community pride, and civic engagement. Working with caring individuals, families, and organizations to create or grow existing permanent endowment funds is critical to the organization’s mission. These funds generate income that is distributed in the form of grants and scholarships to enrich and enhance life in Hancock County, as well as support the donor’s favorite charitable causes, both at home and afar forever. CFHC has granted millions of dollars since its inception in 1992.
